March 1st, 2009

Acai juice is the recently popularized juice made from the acai berry, which is harvested in Central and South America. It’s recently gained massive popularity as more and more users share their results from this potent berry.

So why do you keep hearing about this “acai berry“?

Well, for one, the acai berry contains powerful antioxidants that are believed to stop the cell-damage of free radicals lowering the chance of various cancers. They are also used in the treatment of traumatic brain injury, and are being considered as a treatment option for some nuerodegenerative diseases such as parkinsons among others. Antioxidants are also believed to aid in preventing the oxidant effects of exercise. The most popular use for the acai berry, however, is for it’s purported weight-loss effects.

The acai berry has also made a number of high-class appearances on shows such as Oprah and the Rachel Ray Show. These high-caliber endorsements have spurred a large number of people to give the acai berry a try, some through acai juice, and some through the more potent acai pills which are used for weight loss and as an energy supplement.

Does Acai Juice Really Work?

Although many people have found success with the acai berry, the scientific jury is still out, while some studies have proven the acai berry a successful weight-loss tool, more redundant studies still need to be carried out. In the meantime, many people are trying acai for themselves and seeing impressive results. Ultimately you need to be the Judge of your own success with the acai berry.
